She called him her mistake

Lying in a manger

so sweet and chubby

tears streaming down his face

the pressure put on him was immense, just a child

with the weight of the world on his shoulders

lying in a manger

forgotten and dismissed

he would make the world better and free of danger

if not for the king

he would've made the world better

Lying in a manger bloody and crying

tears like shooting stars

the universe in his eyes

lying in a manger

forgotten and dismissed

his mother had other miracles to attend to

no time for her own

she called him her mistake

a body in a manger

cold and lifeless

Jesus was here, yes

but only so for a few hours
